Deck & Equipment

The hull is an asymmetrical design with only a 2'10" shoal draft. It has a fixed box keel under each hull and twin balanced spade rudders. Not only does this hull design work well in the water, it also makes it easy and simple to block while in dry storage.

The cockpit has an Todd seat with slider for the helmsman. Cockpit seating, which wraps around the port, aft, and starboard sides of the cockpit, can accommodate up to eight guests, and maybe more if they are really friendly. The helmsman seat and cockpit seats are all equipped with snap on cushions upholstered with weather and mildew resistant material. The cockpit is equipped with a removable pedestal table. A large storage locker is incorporated under the helmsman seat and a smaller one is built into the seatback on the starboard side. The aft cockpt hes access to the hydraulic lift pump for the Sonic Cat Leg stern drive, as well as other electrical and mechanical equipment. The two panels which form the cockpit deck can easily be lifted and removed for access to the diesel engine, drive coupling, and upper end of the Sonic Cat Leg. Access to the salon from the cockpit is via a tinted bi-fold Lexan companionway door with a sliding tinted Lexan hatch overhead.
The helm station position affords a clear view of the entire deck and allows easy communication with crewmembers during docking and sailing, as well as joining conversation and fun with guests onboard. The large solid foredeck provides a large stable platform for crew to handle docking lines, sails, anchors, etc. Built-in steps lead up to the salon roof for access to the mast, boom, and mainsail. A large forward locker is accessed via a large hatch in the middle of the foredeck. This locker provides storage for the anchor rode, propane tank locker, holding tank, and still has plenty of space for other essential sailing equipment. The stern has a crossover walkway and built in transom steps to the water line on both hulls and a fold-down swim ladder on the starboard hull. All halyards, sheets, and reefing gear lead aft to the cockpit for effortless single-handed cruising. Lines are controlled by two self-tailing winches, an electric winch, and sheet stoppers. Raising the mainsail with the electric winch is a breeze. The main sheet is also controlled with the electric winch. The genoa is easily furled or reefed with the furling line led to the helm station.
