Tents and more Tents!
The theme for this years show was big, Bigger, BIGGEST! This show was so
big that we couldn't find most of the people we were supposed to meet.
So we kept walking and walking and walking.
We found Galleyware and made a deal for a set of dishes we'll be
featuring in our
Classical Gas
renovation. Another vendor came up with a set of towable genny cars
that should work on
Mad Max. We've
been looking for these for some time.
Boats, did you say, "What about the boats?" Well, there were
too many boats. It would have taken us two or three days to see
them all. JBoats was featuring their J/46 and the sprit boats,
J/160 thru J/80. Our friends at Custom Offshore pointed out the
the BT Challenge Open 60 as a must see.
BT Challenge
The BT Challenge is a "pay to race" round the world program and
the boats are magnificent. Below decks, accommodations include the
nicest pipe births I've ever seen and a fantastic galley.

Miles and Miles of Boats!
The deck layout is designed for speed and comfort. The boys and
girls who get to play on these boats will have a great time.
Moving on, there are more tent and more booths. Everything you
could imagine, foul weather gear, generators, hardware, teak,
insurance, marinas, charters and ... well, stuff.
Small Boats
Talk about, "shop 'till you drop". Over the last 20 years we've
watched the Annapolis Boat Show grow from a great event to this
year's extravaganza. If you are interested in sail boats, this is
the place to start. Big boats, small boats, racers, cruisers and
every kind of gadget imaginable, all assembled in one place for
your pleasure.
Of course you still have to take your shoes off to
go on board. Will they ever learn?
